Cross-sectional studies and Randomised Controlled Trials - what insights can they provide to population health?
The two study designs introduced in this screencast are perhaps opposite extremes. Cross-sectional studies are relatively straightforward and excellent at providing a basis for estimates of prevalence. They're explanatory power is, however, limited. Randomised Controlled Trials on excellent for assessing effectiveness of interventions. The two designs provide a good basis for understanding epidemiological approaches.
